    Stay away from General RV in Tampa (Dover), FL!

    HORRIBLE SERVICE EXPERIENCE. Called twice last week to confirm how service operated. Both times was told to show up 9am Mon-Fri and that they allot 2 hours and up to 5 items that are handled same day while you wait. It was hard to believe, which is why I called back a second time days later and asked a separate service team member to verify. I even asked what happens when too many people show up and they can’t get to everyone in the same day. Her answer: I’ve never seen that happen.

    Drive 1.5 hours in rush hour traffic to get there this morning to have the AC replaced in our trailer. $1,400 quote. Service Advisor says as he’s writing up our service order: “I’m going to need 2.5 weeks to get this done.” Mind you, they had the AC in stock. The service advisor verified when I arrived. I was completely baffled. When I explained what I was told BOTH times I called in the last 7 days he said they were swamped and there was no way it was getting looked at today. He then asked “Were you going to wait?” almost like that was an insane thing to do.

    When I asked to speak to a manager I was told they were in a closed door meeting (I was there almost 2 hours and never spoke to one). I even asked for the store manager since the service manager was in a meeting. Nothing.

    When I asked the advisor if there was any way it could get done today he asked me to unhitch the trailer so he could check it in. I told him I didn’t want to waste time unhitching and re-hitching just for him to tell me he couldn’t get it done today. He refused to see about getting it done today until I unhitched.

    Clearly this dealer uses this tactic to get you there and then treats you no differently than all of the other local dealers they say they’re “better” than. I bought our trailer at Lazydays and took it here instead for service because of the horror stories I’ve heard about Lazydays. It turns out I was just baited.

    Stay clear of this service department!

    Trish was very helpful and knolegable of the 5th we looked at. And the finance deparmartment went above and beyond to get us in our 5th wheel. Sevice department is great to work with and very promt we had a few small problems with the camper and they was great and took care of everything in a timely matter when they had to keep it overnight we was offered to stay in the camper on their site.
